Nirvana Finance, founded by a team of DeFi veterans with deep Solana roots, set out to rebuild trust and excitement around its protocol after two years of inactivity. With the relaunch of Nirvana V2 on the horizon, the team needed a dynamic way to reignite its community and showcase the protocol’s innovative features, including its ANA token—a rising-floor store of wealth that embodies transparency and algorithmic precision.
In the wake of a hack that ended Nirvana v1, the community had gone quiet. “We wanted to create a program to help reinvigorate and re-energize the community leading up to the launch of V2,” the team explained. The goal: bring people back, foster meaningful engagement, and strengthen the culture around Nirvana’s DeFi vision.
However, existing tools often fell short. They lacked seamless Discord integration, limited how quests could be set up, and couldn’t track every action the team cared about. Nirvana needed a way to reward users for engagement across all of their touchpoints.
Enter Kazm. By combining straightforward integration with powerful customization, Kazm gave Nirvana the ability to create quests around any trackable action—even custom-coded ones.
“The other tools out there were not able to be seamlessly integrated into our discord experience in the way Kazm is - that’s one of our favorite things about this tool. In the past we’d also often run into issues of not being able to customize the quests or challenges we were creating as fully as we’d like.”
A Wide Range of Quests
Using Kazm’s flexible quest builder, Nirvana launched challenges tied to:
Because Kazm supports custom events triggered via API, Nirvana was able to build quests for virtually anything they could track. This level of flexibility was a game-changer, allowing the team to reward creativity, initiative, and deeper protocol involvement.
One of the most powerful drivers of Nirvana’s renewed growth was its tiered referral program. Instead of offering one-off rewards, Nirvana scaled points based on how active the referred user became. If a referral hit 100 points, the referrer earned 10; if they hit 500, the referrer earned 50, and so on.
“This is what really allowed us to capture a higher proportion of inbound when compared with other referral events we’ve run. By properly scaling the rewards, we were able to entice not just normal users, but also several users with twitter following in the tens of thousands upwards.”
Referral Results at a Glance
These weren’t just sign-ups; most referrals turned into active community members. The high scorers (1000+ points) were especially valuable for broad social reach, while the majority of mid-level earners consistently contributed to the community.
Nirvana built trust and boosted participation by embedding Kazm's widgets on their existing website, which users were already familiar with, reassuring them that it was legitimate and safe. “By providing a dedicated URL that users recognised as our website, we increased the trust users had in following the link and engaging with the campaign” the team explained, “users were presented with an easy to use UI, a single location to track points and quests, and clarity on how rewards would be issued.”
From an admin perspective, Kazm offered real-time insights:
“Kazm made it much easier to manage the community behind our quest campaign,” said the team. “The members dashboard, automatic highlighting of users with high social followings, and the ability to spot patterns based on quest types—compared to other tools, this is where Kazm excelled.”
By the time Nirvana V2 launched, the once-dormant community had transformed into a vibrant ecosystem of engaged participants. “Kazm helped us prepare our community for a pivotal relaunch, allowing us to engage and incentivize users during pre- and post-launch,” said Alex.
Nirvana plans to keep using Kazm’s quest framework and referral mechanisms to power further growth and reinforce the protocol’s mission of building a resilient, transparent DeFi asset.
Looking ahead, Nirvana sees Kazm as a cornerstone of its community strategy. “Kazm is our team’s preferred tool to use for incentive programs—the flexibility and tooling is definitely a step above other similar tools we’ve used in the past,” said Christina.
